For you I have compiled a few
recipes. Try them out, adjust them to your tastes, and most of all, enjoy!
Jam Bars
*1/2 cup shortening
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1/2 tsp. vanilla
*1/2 tsp. almond extract
*1 egg *1 1/2 cups flour
*1 tsp. baking powder
*1/2 tsp. cinnamon
*1/4 tsp. ground cloves
*1/2 tsp. salt
*jam or marmalade
Cream together sugar, vanilla,
almond extract and shortening. Stir in egg. Mix dry ingredients and add
to mixture, mixing well. Spread 1/2 dough in a greased 8 inch square pan,
cover with jam and top with the rest of the dough. Bake at 400 degrees
F for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
Makes approximately 20 bars.
Herbed Cherry Tomatoes
*12-15 cherry tomatoes
*4 Tbs. sunflower seed oil
* 2 tsp. vinegar
* 1tsp sugar
* 1 tsp. oregano leaves
* 1 tsp. salt
* 1/2 tsp. pepper
* 1/4 tsp. sweet basil
Slice tomatoes in half and
put into the serving bowl. Combine the rest of the ingredients and pour
over tomatoes. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Serves approx. 6
